Black Friday Seattle E-Bike Parade!

Many of you have been dreading this time of the year. When thinking about the best gift to give to your friends and family, you find that it can be quite daunting and tiresome. You end up giving your loved ones another version of last years gift; a different colored winter coat, another nice watch, a funky tie that they will never wear, a work-out machine that will stay in the garage for many years of collected dust, and so on. And then you look at your life. You find yourself hiding away in winters' hibernation at home and at your work desk in a long, drawn-out cycle for many months with no excitement or energy to do anything else. Well, how about trying something a little different, something that is the latest in today's technology, something that screams excitement and applying that to you or your loved one's daily life. The electric bike is the ultimate gift for the 2012 holiday season and here is what we would like to present to YOU...

Layer on your winter gear, grab your wallets, and come join us for a first-time ever event happening right here in downtown Seattle on the busiest shopping day of the year, Black Friday.

Starting in the wee hours of the morning on November 23rd, people will be swarming around in the heart of Seattle scouting the best deals from their favorite stores. To break up their day and make it more fun and exciting, we are having our very own PARADE!! We will be dazzling you with about a dozen of our favorite bikes and demonstrating our passion for e-biking,  just after Macy’s does their annual event.

In the spirit of Black Friday, we will be offering outstanding deals in celebration of the holidays, as well as the bike riders who are considering the merits of our fabulous electric bikes, our electric or human powered Fat bikes, the amazing Ridekick e-trailer  that will electrify your own bike in 5 minutes for under $700, or even the Worlds finest e-bike, the amazing Stealth Bomber, priced at $12,000 before holiday discounts, and when you see it you will know it is worth it all. We also will show you some nifty electric trikes, including one that will carry objects as big as a refrigerator.

As you experience whatever weather November 23 brings us, remember that one great thing about an electric bike is it lets you dress warm and dry, and it keeps your pedaling intensity below the perspiration level, even going up steep hills.  (Unless you have a refrigerator on board.)

Here are the details for Black Friday:

When: November 23rd

Time: 9:30 am – 12 pm (roughly)

Where:  Starting at Occidental park in Pioneer Square, right in back of our store. Then, we make our way into the Retail Core via 1st. Then, through the Market if we can make it, then up Pike to 6th, then to Pine St, Pine to 4th, 4th to University to 5th back to Pine, down to Westlake, and home on 4th!

Seattle E-Bike Scores at Interbike!

As winter is approaching us, many folks will start storing their bikes away to not be seen again until spring. Here at Seattle E-Bike, we want our riders to be prepared and excited to get on their bikes year-round. Since the beginning of the summer, we have been preparing to offer more power, more cargo, more visibility, and more adventure while safely riding. There is so much going on here at Seattle E-Bike and we are excited to share what we have brought to our shop.

Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, The 2012 Interbike International Expo had 776 booths which attracted thousands of excited and innovative cyclists from all over the world. The booths were stocked with very impressive products to share with the biking community. We had the opportunity to attend this year and discovered many new products, a number of which we’ll be debuting at our store this month to help you keep riding through the fall and winter season.

A precaution every bike rider should consider is making sure you are as visible as possible to prevent accidents, especially on busy streets in the city. The Halobelt meets above those expectations and does it with style. The Halo belt makes the rider visible from 360 degrees, with various blinking capabilities. Made with poly/nylon, the LED sends light through a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) fiber optic making the light bright, glowing, and visible. This solution is also theft-proof, as they explain on their website, because it is wearable and not left on the bike for anyone to steal.

This video will make you want one:

Also from Interbike, we now have a electric-assist conversion option in the shop. The Ridekick is an amazing (not to mention reasonably priced!) new product which allows you to quickly add a 500-watt, electric-assisted trailer to any bike, with the flexibility to take it off again in under 90 seconds. This e-trailer boosts your ride up to 19 mph with a simple throttle, giving you variable speed control, while towing your briefcase or bags of groceries. We thought it was such a brilliant idea we had to get our hands on them!

Check out this hilarious video they produced:

If you live in the northwest, you can certainly relate to the rider in this video. Can you imagine using an e-trailer that has a powerful motor and can carry up to 40 liters without having to modify the bike you already own? It is complete and utter genius. Stop by our shop to see it for yourself!

Those are just two products that we added to our line-up, but that is just the beginning of what all is going on at Seattle E-Bike. We encourage you to stop in to get the whole scoop of what we've been up to. If we told you everything, then you wouldn't wonder. Happy riding!
