Spring is in the air, at least for rugged Seattleites it is, but according to the calendar, and the weatherman, it is still late winter... A great time to offer dramatic markdowns on some older model bikes, so we can make room for the incoming. We are offering four of our lines. Two with full warranty, two more greatly discounted, with limited warranties. All offerings are limited to stock on hand.
The Wallerang Urban Cargo is one of our finest bikes. Made in Sweden, you will see them around town delivering Domino's Pizza's. Regularly $4399, now $3450. Full 3 year warranty on frame, two years on everything else.
Wallerang M.01 or M.02 - Was $4399, now $3450!
BESV of Germany, makes E-Bikes with stunning design, built of carbon fiber. The LX-1 is their full size model, a beautiful E-Bike with excellent range, was $3999, now $2250. The LX-1 has baby brother, the PS-1, same beautiful style, but 20 inch wheels, and a smaller motor and battery. It has always been a bargain at $1999, now $1400. Both Models are manufacturers warranty only.
BESV LX-1 - Was $3999, now $2250!
BESV PS-1 - Was $1999, now $1400!
We have some 2016 Kalkhoffbikes at extremely good prices, many new in box. These bikes are made in Germany, with Powerful center drive motors. All models are Direct Manufacturers Warranty only.

Emazing is one of are oldest and most successful economy brands, but we have accumulated too many. They are lightweight and strong, and perform surprising well for a 350 watt bike, largely due to their perfectly tuned pedelec system. All models are marked down from $1999, to screaming deal at $1299. That is by far the best new full size E-Bike you can buy for that price. Includes 6 month warranty, 90 days on battery.
We have sold hundreds of Emazing Bikes since we opened our doors 6 years ago. They are well made bikes, and light too, only 37 pounds, which is rare in an E-Bike. At 350 watts, they do not conquer the steepest hills in town without a strong rider, but they have superb pedelec, and are an extraordinary value.
They are introducing a more powerful line, which we think will be a killer, and are working with us to clear out our old inventory from 2016 and 2015 for only $1299 (as-is). It is a while supplies last kind of thing, a great deal from the regular MSRP of $2000.
If price is a problem, you will never get another chance to get a good E-Bike again for this price, so come grab one soon, they won’t be around long. A test ride will convince you they are nicely dialed in.
The reason you can find wonderful European Bikes at Seattle E-Bike is because, since I started the store 6 years ago, I have flown each year to Eurobike, in Freiderichshavn Germany. It is, by a factor of three, the largest bike and E-Bike show in the world.
In 2012, there were probably 10 E-Bike Brands at Eurobike taking up 2 percent of the show. This year, year 6 for me, there were at least 100 E-bike brands, the models taking up 15 percent or so of the space at the show, at least half of much more space as non assisted bikes. (Over half the space is highly specialized, like rows of booths just offering pedals.)
I always follow my Eurobike visit with visits to major European cities This year Stockholm, and Gdansk. Previous years Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Paris, Brussels, Brugge, Munich, Zurich, and various cities in France and Italy. Every year, I see that the Urban Core of the Norther European cities are becoming increasingly dominated by bicycles. In Amsterdam, more people own at least one bicycle (many own 4 or 5). More own bikes instead of owning a car. The Dutch are the leaders, in boat building and bike usage.
Now, now more than 40 percent of Dutch bicycle sales are electric bikes Here in Stockholm I rented a bike (non electric) because one look at the density and size of central Stockholm told me that it was the best way to travel. Riding around all day confirmed it. I must have seen 100,000 bikes, and between the bike paths and their general presence everywhere, they are respected by motorists and I felt safe even with an oh so slow, 20 inch heavy, 3 speed rental. But boy, did I wish I had an E-Bike. There is a reason E-Bike's are taking over Eurobike.
Seattle is ahead of most of the U.S. in bike use, but hopelessly behind Northern Europe.
Given the our ethos....green is good, its great to be outdoors, a little drizzle won't hurt you, and working your body is a virtue.... there can be only one reason bikes are not more prevalent in our traffic choked city.
Our hills! Yes, our hills! Kansas is mountainous compared to the Netherlands. The highest spot a Dutch person has to reach is 18 feet above sea level. Stockholm has grades, but not grades we would find noticeable. London, Berlin, Brugge, Brussels, are all extremely flat.
If you want to comfortably and frequently, ride up Cherry Street, or Queen Anne Ave, or Stone Way, or climb over Beacon to Rainier, or make the run out on Madison to the Lake, or 35th West in West Seattle, which has 33 times as much vertical that the entire country of the Netherlands, you have your work cut our for you.
Two must have links with great information for commuters
Gravity being immutable, you have two choices, if you want to really enjoy riding in Seattle, you can either work out hard an hour a day until you are 40, 2 hours a day until you are 60, and then three hours a day after that. Or.....you can flatten our hills through the miracle of lithium powered electrical assist. Still riding as hard as you wish, but going where you want, as far as you want and at speeds 50% to 200% faster, depending on the terrain.
Let's face facts, if we are going to get more of our aging butts back on bikes, and take back the City, you need an E-Bike.
Unless you are the athlete referenced above, you owe it to yourself and our City to find something that will get your butt back on a bike. Everyday, everywhere. Leave the car at home, maybe even sell it. Better it is parked at home than crawling at 2 mph downtown.
At Seattle E-Bike, we believe we have the most different bikes, and the best bikes We can find the right one for you. Call 206-344-8000 right now an make an appointment for a FREE test ride. As eloquent as I like to think I am, I cannot explain the joy and liberation that you feel in the first 5 minutes of your ride. Better than the day your parents took the training wheels off.
Stay tuned, when I get back from Europe, we will be introducing a device that will make E-Bikes even more useful than they already are!
You may have heard or read that we are having THE biggest sale since we've opened. It is both a clearance and a sale of the bikes that were involved in the fire. Most of those bikes just had to have soot wiped off of them and are perfect and new. Still, we don’t feel right charging full price and are reducing them to 10% or more with full warranty coverage. Bikes that were hit by sprinkler water have been reduced 20% or more. We are also having a sale on all accessories 10% to 70%. Below is a list of what is available as of this morning.
Come in and trade up or buy a bike for a loved one!! This sale is going on through Sunday only!

We are delighted with the new product line Polaris has debuted for 2015. They have not only incorporated regenerative braking/coasting, but these rides are FAST! Not mention a big thumbs up on their design! We are always appreciative of batteries being built into the frames without losing the rigidity of the bike and stylish appeal. We find them to really be the superior bike for the coming 2015 year and are thrilled to announce their arrival at last. The Fat Bikes are especially good looking with a rugged but functional ride for everyday use as well. Most importantly, they have really listened and took a major leap in their new product line compared to their last in terms of overall performance, with some of their models reaching speeds of 25+ MPH!
Check out some of their bikes:

Seattle E-Bike is thrilled to offer an even better deal on our Polaris Meridian models!
Previously on sale for $1,999, they are now $1,195 (MSRP: $2,999).
Polaris has a well-established, decades long reputation for building high quality recreational vehicles. They have teamed up with Seattle E-bike to bring this closeout sale on the Meridian models we have in stock. Polaris will soon be introducing a completely new series with larger motors, larger batteries, and highly sophisticated control systems. They want their old models cleared out and they have asked us [one of their largest dealers] to help them. The Meridian and Meridian ST are two of our most popular models and a favorite among customers. Come try out this fantastic bike soon before they are gone!
We are currently featuring great deals on our Light & Motion products! All lights are 20% off. Designed for daily commuters, these are simply the most powerful and most convenient lights you can find on the market. They are lightweight and compact, while also being capable of lighting up a dark street. Drivers will see you on the road - even late at night. Light & Motion has extensively researched accident data to create the best lights for accident prevention. They discovered that most car/bike accidents happen at intersections where cars turn into or across a cyclist's path, which is why their lights feature amber side lights for increased 180 degree visibility.
Our Light & Motion products feature CREE LED lightbulbs and multiple modes for either flashing or constant light. These lights have longer run times and life spans, making them a great investment because you won't have to buy another one for years. Every light is certified FL1-Standard for light brightness, impact/water resistance, and run time. They are also equipped with Lithium batteries and USB charger for easy recharging. All lights are weatherproof, impact resistant, and easy to mount. Stop by our store to test one out for yourself!
Polaris has awarded Seattle E-Bike it's highest dealer status -- we are now a Factory Fixture Store!!
This makes us the flagship Polaris E-Bike store in the Northwest. To celebrate, Polaris offered us a special buying opportunity on two containers of the 2013 Meridian, the flagship of Polaris’ superb fleet of E-Bikes. It is Polaris’ purpose to build the ultimate urban commuter. The tires are half of the width of other Polaris e-bikes, which are specially designed to handle the higher pressure efficiency commuting requires. However, unlike many commuter bikes, it has a 75 mm SunTour AVX suspension front forks so comfort is maintained, even with the hyper-efficient running gear. Only the Meridian has fenders and headlight standard, again consistent with its commuter mission.
Regularly $2999, our special buy allows us to offer it for $1999! It is available in the standard configuration in gunmetal or the easy-to-board ST-1 in white. The Meridian is limited in production and, therefore, very hard to find so we are excited to have this opportunity to share with you! Come on over to our new location to check out this superb hybrid commuter!
Many of our customers ride E-bikes every day to commute to work. Others use theirs for recreation only and are probably less likely to pull their bikes out in December. But now is a great time to think about those...
